Welcome to Hammond Westside Montessori School! As you walk in the door, you immediately feel a welcoming presence and you will hear a buzz of activity as you walk down the halls. We provide a safe environment where the atmosphere is one of respect for one's self, for others, and for the environment. Montessori is a child-centered philosophy, based on the needs of the learner. The Prepared Environment allows for knowledge to be acquired through the use of concrete materials, scientifically designed to enhance conceptual thinking, which then leads to abstract thinking. Our course offerings are as follows: Mathematics, Geometry, Grammar and Literature, Phonics, Physical and Natural Sciences, History and Geography, and Reading Comprehension. 

The Enrichment classes we offer are Computer, Physical Education, Music, Art, and Library.
